Description

A refreshing Tequila Mojito cocktail combining the bright flavors of tequila, mint-infused simple syrup, and lime juice, topped with club soda for a fizzy finish. This recipe includes homemade mint-infused simple syrup to elevate the cocktail’s fresh and aromatic profile, perfect for a summertime drink or casual gathering.

Ingredients

Scale

Tequila Mojito

  • 3 ounces tequila
  • 2 ounces mint-infused simple syrup
  • 2 ounces lime juice
  • Club soda, to top
  • Ice, as needed
  • Fresh lime wedges, for garnish
  • Fresh mint leaves, for garnish

Mint Infused Simple Syrup

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup fresh mint leaves

Instructions

  1. Make the Mint Infused Simple Syrup: In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is completely dissolved and the mixture gently simmers. Remove the pan from heat, add 1 cup of fresh mint leaves, and let the syrup steep until it is completely cooled. Once cooled, strain out the mint leaves and refrigerate the syrup until ready to use.
  2. Prepare the Cocktail: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Pour in 3 ounces of tequila, 2 ounces of the chilled mint-infused simple syrup, and 2 ounces of fresh lime juice. Shake vigorously to combine and chill the mixture.
  3. Assemble the Drink: Fill a highball glass with ice. Strain the shaken mixture into the glass, topping it with a splash of club soda to add fizz and lighten the cocktail.
  4. Garnish and Serve: Garnish the drink with fresh lime wedges and mint leaves for a vibrant presentation. Serve immediately and enjoy this refreshing tequila mojito.

Notes

  • The mint-infused simple syrup can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
  • Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of simple syrup according to your taste preference.
  • Use fresh lime juice for the best flavor; bottled lime juice can alter the taste.
  • For a stronger mint flavor, add more mint leaves during the syrup infusion.
  • Serve the cocktail with crushed ice if preferred for a different texture.
