Wet Ingredients

Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Baking Dish: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line a 9×9 inch baking dish with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy removal.
- Cream Wet Ingredients: Using a standing mixer, cream together the softened butter, light brown sugar, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and kosher salt until evenly combined.
- Combine Wet and Dry: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, whisking continuously until just combined, being careful not to overmix to maintain a tender texture.
- Add M&M’s and Chocolate Chips: Gently fold in ¾ cup of green M&M’s and ¾ cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips, distributing them evenly throughout the dough.
- Press Dough Into Pan: Transfer the cookie dough to the prepared baking dish and press it down evenly to cover the entire base.
- Top with Extra Candies: Scatter a few extra green M&M’s and chocolate chips on top for a decorative touch and added texture.
- Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is lightly browned and a toothpick inserted near the center comes out mostly clean.
- Cool and Cut: Remove from the oven and allow the cookie bars to cool completely in the pan before slicing into 12 bars for serving.
