  • 2 tablespoons tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil

  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar

Additional Ingredients:

  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Sauté Aromatics: In a large skillet over medium heat, sauté diced onion in olive oil until soft. Add garlic and cook briefly.
  2. Cook Meat: Add ground beef and sausage, cook until browned. Drain fat, then add tomatoes, paste, sauce, herbs, salt, pepper, and sugar. Simmer.
  3. Prepare Noodles and Cheese: Cook noodles, mix ricotta, egg, and Parmesan in a bowl.
  4. Layer: Preheat oven. Layer sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella in a baking dish.
