Description

These delicious Meatball Sliders are perfect for a quick and satisfying meal or party appetizer. Made with tender meatballs, melted provolone cheese, and a flavorful marinara sauce, layered on soft Hawaiian rolls and topped with a garlic herb butter, these sliders are baked to golden perfection and garnished with fresh basil and Parmesan cheese for extra zing.

Ingredients

Scale

Meatball Sliders

  • 12 meatballs (any kind, thawed or homemade)
  • 1 package Hawaiian Rolls (12-count)
  • 12 slices Provolone cheese
  • 24 oz. marinara or spaghetti sauce (or homemade)

Garlic Herb Butter

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • â…› tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 medium garlic cloves (minced)
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning
  • â…› tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
  • fresh basil (chopped, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the baking dish: Spray a 9×13 inch baking sheet or dish with nonstick spray to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
  2. Slice the rolls: Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally and place the bottom halves evenly in the prepared baking dish, forming the base layer of the sliders.
  3. Add cheese to the bottom rolls: Place 6 slices of provolone cheese evenly over the bottom halves of the rolls, allowing slices to slightly overlap for even cheesiness.
  4. Layer the meatballs: Arrange 12 meatballs over the cheese, placing one meatball on each slider for a hearty filling.
  5. Add sauce: Spoon approximately 1 teaspoon of marinara or spaghetti sauce on top of each meatball to add moisture and flavor.
  6. Top with cheese slices: Cover the meatballs with the remaining 6 slices of provolone cheese, ensuring each slider is nicely layered.
  7. Place the top buns: Place the top halves of the Hawaiian rolls onto each slider to complete the sandwich.
  8. Prepare garlic herb butter: In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, freshly ground black pepper, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, and crushed red pepper flakes to create a flavorful butter glaze.
  9. Brush sliders with butter: Generously brush the garlic herb butter evenly over the top of the sandwich buns to add rich flavor and help with browning.
  10. Cover and bake: Tightly cover the sliders with sprayed aluminum foil to retain moisture and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes.
  11. Uncover and add Parmesan: Remove the foil, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the sliders, and bake uncovered for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the tops are golden and cheese is melted.
  12. Garnish and serve: Remove from the oven and garnish with freshly chopped basil. Serve warm, optionally with extra marinara sauce on the side. Enjoy!

Notes

  • You can use store-bought or homemade meatballs, just be sure they are fully cooked before assembling.
  • For a spicier kick, increase the crushed red pepper flakes in the garlic butter.
  • Ensure the sliders are tightly covered with foil during baking to keep them moist and prevent drying out.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated and reheated in the oven wrapped in foil to preserve texture.
  • These sliders make a perfect appetizer for parties or a fun family meal.
