Description

These Macaroni and Cheese Bites are a fun twist on the classic dish, perfect for parties or as a tasty snack. Baked to golden perfection, these mini bites are cheesy and flavorful.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Macaroni and Cheese Bites:

  • 2 cups elbow macaroni, uncooked
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup seasoned breadcrumbs
  • nonstick cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F and lightly grease a mini muffin tin with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Cook the macaroni: Cook the macaroni in salted boiling water until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  3. Make the cheese sauce: Melt butter in a saucepan, whisk in flour, then gradually whisk in milk. Cook until thickened. Add cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth.
  4. Combine ingredients: In a bowl, mix the cooked macaroni with the cheese sauce. Add the beaten egg, Parmesan cheese, and breadcrumbs.
  5. Bake: Spoon the mixture into the mini muffin tin and bake for 15–18 minutes until golden and set.
  6. Serve: Let cool in the pan for 5 minutes before removing. Serve warm.

Notes

  • You can customize these bites by adding cooked bacon bits, diced jalapeños, or chopped green onions for extra flavor.
  • The bites can be frozen after baking and reheated in the oven.
