Ingredients
Scale
Chocolate Base
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (No substitutions recommended.)
- 14 oz sweetened condensed milk (Evaporated milk may change flavor.)
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter (Margarine can be used in a pinch.)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (Omit for simplicity.)
Swirl and Topping
- 1 cup marshmallow creme (Can substitute with Fluff.)
- 0.5 cup colored candy melts or white chocolate chips (Omit for simpler fudge.)
Instructions
- Prepare Pan: Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper, leaving excess hanging over the edges to allow easy removal later. Lightly spray the parchment with non-stick cooking spray to prevent the fudge from sticking.
- Melt Chocolate Mixture: In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and unsalted butter. Stir frequently for 5 to 7 minutes until the mixture is fully melted and smooth. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract until well incorporated.
- Pour and Swirl Marshmallow: Pour the melted chocolate mixture into the prepared pan, spreading evenly. Dollop the marshmallow creme on top and gently swirl it through the chocolate using a knife to create a marbled effect.
- Melt Decorative Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the colored candy melts or white chocolate chips by heating for about 30 seconds, stirring until smooth. Drizzle over the fudge and swirl again lightly with a knife to add a decorative finish.
- Chill Fudge: Place the pan in the refrigerator and chill for at least 2 hours, or until the fudge is firm and set to the touch.
- Serve: Lift the fudge out of the pan using the parchment paper edges. Cut into 16 squares and serve at room temperature for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- Use non-stick spray on parchment paper to ensure easy removal of fudge.
- Do not substitute evaporated milk for sweetened condensed milk as it will alter the flavor and texture.
- The marshmallow creme swirl adds a creamy texture and sweetness; substitute with Fluff if unavailable.
- Colored candy melts are optional but add a festive visual appeal; white chocolate chips work as a suitable alternative.
- Store fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
- Allow fudge to come to room temperature before serving for optimal softness and flavor release.
