Description

A refreshing and easy-to-make Iced Matcha Latte that combines the vibrant flavor of matcha powder with creamy almond milk, chilled to perfection. This recipe is perfect for a quick, energizing drink anytime.

Ingredients

Scale

Matcha Mixture

  • 2 teaspoons matcha powder
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons hot water
  • 1 cup warm water

Other Ingredients

  • Ice, as needed
  • Milk of choice (almond milk recommended), to taste

Instructions

  1. Make Matcha Paste: In a measuring cup or bowl, combine the 2 teaspoons of matcha powder with 1 to 2 tablespoons of hot water. Whisk vigorously until the matcha forms a smooth, lump-free paste.
  2. Add Warm Water: Pour in the remaining 1 cup of warm water into the matcha paste and mix thoroughly to combine.
  3. Chill Mixture: Place the matcha mixture in the fridge or freezer for about 15 minutes to cool it down.
  4. Assemble Drink: Fill two glasses with ice. Add milk of choice to each glass as desired. Pour the chilled matcha mixture over the ice and milk. Stir well before serving.

Notes

  • Adjust the sweetness by adding a sweetener such as honey, sugar, or agave if desired.
  • Using warm water (not boiling) helps preserve the delicate flavor of matcha.
  • The chilling step can be shortened or skipped if you prefer a less cold drink.
  • Almond milk is recommended for a light, nutty taste, but any milk substitute or dairy milk can be used.
  • Whisking thoroughly is key to avoid clumps in the matcha paste.
