For the Honey Garlic Sauce:
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
For the Main Dish:
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 8 oz smoked sausage, sliced into rounds
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked rice, for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Honey Garlic Sauce: In a small bowl, combine honey, garlic, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes. Set aside.
- Cook the Main Dish: Heat olive oil and sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sausage and cook until browned. Add broccoli and stir-fry until tender. Push sausage and broccoli to the side, add shrimp to the pan, and cook until pink. Pour the honey garlic sauce over everything, toss to coat, and cook until heated through and slightly thickened. Season with salt and pepper. Serve over rice if desired.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate the shrimp in half of the sauce for 15 minutes before cooking.
- You can substitute broccoli with snap peas or bell peppers for variety.
