Description

This Easter Snack Mix is a delightful and colorful treat perfect for springtime celebrations. Combining crunchy multigrain cereal, pretzels, nuts, and pastel M&M’s, all drizzled with creamy white chocolate, this mix is a sweet and salty snack that’s easy to prepare and sure to please a crowd.

Ingredients

Scale

Chocolate Mixture

  • 3 cups white chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional)

Snack Mix

  • 4 cups multigrain Cheerios
  • 4 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 2 cups pretzel sticks
  • 1 cup roasted cashews (optional)
  • 1 9-ounce bag peanut butter M&M eggs
  • 1 cup pastel milk chocolate M&M’s
  • ½ cup shredded, sweetened coconut
  • Extra white chocolate chips, for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Baking Sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to create a non-stick base for mixing your snack ingredients.
  2. Melt White Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the white chocolate chips and coconut oil (if using). Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until the chocolate is melted and smooth.
  3. Mix Dry Ingredients: On the lined baking sheet, combine the multigrain Cheerios, Rice Chex, pretzel sticks, and roasted cashews if using. Toss gently to evenly mix.
  4. Add M&M’s: Add half of both the peanut butter M&M eggs and pastel milk chocolate M&M’s to the mix, evenly distributing the colorful candies.
  5. Drizzle Chocolate: Pour the melted white chocolate evenly over the dry mix on the baking sheet.
  6. Toss to Coat: Quickly but gently toss the mixture with a spatula or large spoon so that all the pieces are coated in the white chocolate.
  7. Finish with M&M’s and Coconut: Sprinkle the remaining M&M’s and shredded coconut over the mix, then gently toss once more to combine.
  8. Optional Toppings: If you like, sprinkle extra white chocolate chips on top for added texture and sweetness.
  9. Set the Mixture: Allow the mixture to set at room temperature for 20 to 30 minutes or until the white chocolate has fully hardened.
  10. Store: Transfer the finished Easter Snack Mix to a large bowl, airtight container, or resealable plastic bag to store until ready to serve.

Notes

  • If coconut oil is not available, it can be omitted; it helps white chocolate firm up but is not essential.
  • Use parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
  • This snack mix keeps well at room temperature when stored in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
  • For a nut-free version, simply omit the cashews.
  • Be gentle when mixing to avoid breaking the pretzels and M&M’s too much.
