Description

This Crockpot Ranch Chicken recipe is a creamy, flavorful slow-cooked dish combining tender chicken breasts with ranch seasoning, cream cheese, and a savory sauce. Perfect for an easy weeknight dinner, it can be served over rice, mashed potatoes, noodles, or in buns for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Sauce Ingredients

  • 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 cup low sodium chicken broth
  • 1 (1 ounce) packet ranch seasoning (Hidden Valley recommended)
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Pepper, to taste

Chicken

  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts (about 4 medium breasts)

Additional

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened and cubed
  • Chopped fresh parsley, optional and to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sauce: In a medium bowl, combine the cream of chicken soup, low sodium chicken broth, ranch seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, and pepper. Stir well until all ingredients are evenly mixed.
  2. Assemble in Crockpot: Arrange the chicken breasts side-by-side in the crockpot. Pour the prepared sauce mixture evenly over the chicken. Place the softened cream cheese cubes on top of the sauce without stirring.
  3. Cook the Chicken: Cover and cook on high for 3 hours or on low for 5 to 6 hours, until the chicken is tender and fully cooked through.
  4. Shred and Mix: Using two forks, shred the chicken directly in the crockpot. Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the chicken if desired, and toss or stir to coat the shredded chicken thoroughly with the creamy ranch sauce.
  5. Serve: Serve the ranch chicken hot over rice, mashed potatoes, noodles, or inside buns for a delicious meal.

Notes

  • Do not stir the sauce and cream cheese before cooking to allow the cream cheese to melt gradually in the crockpot.
  • Chicken broth used is low sodium to control saltiness; adjust seasoning after cooking if needed.
  • Optional parsley adds a fresh herbal note and color to the finished dish.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheated gently to maintain creaminess.
  • Ideal to pair with simple starches or vegetables for a complete meal.
