Description

Creamy Buldak Ramen with Egg is a flavorful Korean-inspired dish that combines spicy Buldak ramen noodles with a rich and creamy sauce. Topped with a perfectly fried egg and garnished with sesame seeds and chopped green onions, this recipe offers a comforting and indulgent meal ready in just 20 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Noodles and Egg

  • 2 packs Buldak ramen noodles
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 large egg

Sauce

  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 cup water

Garnish

  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1 green onion, chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat Oil and Fry Egg: Heat a large pot over medium-high heat and add the vegetable oil. Once hot, crack in the egg and fry until the whites are fully cooked but the yolk remains soft. Remove the egg and set aside.
  2. Cook Noodles: In the same pot, add the Buldak ramen noodles, breaking them if needed. Pour in 1/2 cup of water and cook noodles according to package instructions for 3-4 minutes.
  3. Prepare Sauce: While noodles cook, combine heavy cream, butter, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic powder, onion powder, gochujang, and sugar in a small bowl.
  4. Drain and Combine: When noodles are done, drain most of the water, leaving a bit in the pot to help mix the sauce.
  5. Add Sauce to Noodles: Pour the sauce over the noodles and stir gently to coat them evenly. Continue cooking for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly to ensure thorough coating.
  6. Add Sesame Seeds: Stir in sesame seeds to incorporate them evenly with the noodles.
  7. Serve: Transfer the creamy Buldak ramen to a bowl, top with the fried egg, garnish with chopped green onions, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a less spicy version, reduce the amount of gochujang or substitute with a milder chili paste.
  • Use fresh green onions for best flavor and garnish appearance.
  • Make sure to keep the egg yolk runny to add creaminess to the dish when mixed.
  • Adjust water quantity slightly depending on desired sauce consistency.
  • Can be served with additional vegetables such as spinach or mushrooms for added nutrition.
