Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients
- 3 cups cooked chicken, shredded or cubed
- 3 cups broccoli florets, steamed
- 12 oz cooked pasta (penne or rotini)
- 2 cups Alfredo sauce (store-bought or homemade)
Toppings and Seasoning
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko preferred)
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it’s at the right temperature for baking the casserole evenly.
- Combine ingredients: In a large bowl, mix together the cooked chicken, steamed broccoli florets, cooked pasta, and Alfredo sauce until everything is well incorporated.
- Season mixture: Add the minced garlic along with salt and pepper to taste, mixing thoroughly to distribute the flavors.
- Prepare baking dish: Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking, then transfer the chicken and broccoli pasta mixture into the dish, spreading it out evenly.
- Add cheese layers: Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese followed by grated Parmesan cheese uniformly over the top of the mixture for a rich cheesy layer.
- Make breadcrumb topping: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter with breadcrumbs, then sprinkle this mixture evenly over the cheese layer to create a crispy topping.
- Bake: Place the casserole in the oven uncovered and bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Bake until the breadcrumb topping turns golden brown and crispy and the casserole is bubbly throughout.
- Rest and serve: Remove from the oven and let the bake rest for 5 minutes to set before serving warm.
Notes
- Use panko breadcrumbs for an extra crispy topping.
- You can substitute cooked rotini or penne pasta with any short pasta you prefer.
- For a lighter version, use low-fat Alfredo sauce and reduced-fat cheeses.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- If you prefer fresh garlic flavor, sauté the minced garlic in butter before adding to the mix.
