Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup packed light brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients:

  • ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup sour cream

Additional Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups fresh blueberries (or frozen, not thawed)
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • Streusel Topping:

    • ⅓ cup packed light brown sugar
    • ⅓ cup all-purpose flour
    • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
    • 3 tablespoons cold unsalted butter (cubed)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven and prepare the pan: Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9-inch square baking pan.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Cream butter and sugars: In a large bowl, cream butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Combine wet ingredients: Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla and sour cream, mixing until smooth.
  5. Blend dry and wet ingredients: Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Add blueberries and cinnamon: Gently fold in blueberries and cinnamon.
  7. Prepare streusel topping: Combine brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  8. Bake: Pour batter into pan, sprinkle streusel on top. Bake for 40–45 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool and serve: Cool in pan before serving.

Notes

  • You can use frozen blueberries, but do not thaw them before folding into the batter.
  • For added crunch, mix chopped pecans or walnuts into the streusel topping.
