Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients
- 24 ladyfingers (about 7 oz)
- 2 cups strong brewed coffee (cooled)
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup mascarpone cheese (8 oz)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup heavy cream (cold)
- 1/4 cup chocolate shavings
Instructions
- Prepare Coffee: Brew 2 cups of strong coffee and allow it to cool completely to room temperature, ensuring it won’t make the ladyfingers soggy.
- Mix Mascarpone and Sugar: In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of mascarpone cheese with 1/2 cup granulated sugar until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Whip Cream: In a separate bowl, whip 1 cup of cold heavy cream until soft peaks form, then gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture to create a light, airy filling.
- Dip Ladyfingers: Briefly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled coffee; ensure they absorb some coffee but do not become soggy.
- Layer Dessert: Arrange a layer of dipped ladyfingers in the serving dish. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over them, then sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa powder. Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.
- Chill: Refrigerate the assembled tiramisu for at least four hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld and the dessert to set properly.
- Finish and Serve: Before serving, dust the top with the remaining cocoa powder and sprinkle 1/4 cup of chocolate shavings over the tiramisu for an elegant and indulgent finish.
Notes
- Use strong brewed coffee for the best depth of flavor.
- Do not soak ladyfingers too long in coffee to avoid sogginess.
- For a firmer tiramisu, chill overnight.
- Chocolate shavings can be made from dark chocolate for extra richness.
- Maskaropne must be fresh and at room temperature for smooth mixing.
